The weather man was wrong - it didn't rain today - it is beautiful with a nice stiff breeze. I was a Lala's today. After we chit chatted the morning away, i cleaned while she scanned and stored pictures on the computer. 30 yrs of pics - that should keep her off the streets for a while . LOL

Went down to the docks on the way home and watched some people throwing chicken legs attached to strings into the water to catch crabs for their dinner. I like to watch them. This one old guy couldn't bring them in fast enough. In a short while, he had a bucket full and was off to go home and cook them. I could stay and watch for hours. It is a very peaceful relaxing place. It is especially fun when there are young kids. Their eyes get so BIG and they get so excited for everyone caught. It's like it's the first one they ever saw.  Kids are so neat!

Things are starting to slow down. Sunday was a combined bell concert  with another church. It turned out much better than I thought it would. I think I was just  a bit overwhelmed with all the music, between the retreat and this concert and our end of the year concert which is this sunday coming up. After that  we have one more Sunday to sing as a choir and then we are off for the summer. Then I will file ALL the music for the season and move on to the next thing on the list............. I really need to put some concentrated effort into finding a job.  I really wish I knew what I was supposed to be when I grow up.  I friend from choir just started his own consulting business recently, helping people get started or change careers, anyone think that e-mail was coincidence? Not likely !!  After the concert I will be getting in touch with him. I have 2 resumes written but they need to be adjusted to fit the kind of job I will be looking for . I guess at this point it will be some kind of office work.  It has been a long time. Please keep this in your prayers. I keep making other things more important. When I talked to Lala today, she said I am not allowed to say Yes to anything until I have a full time job with benefits . She is right. Hate to admit it....She doesn't pull any  punches - she tells it like it is. Sometimes I don't want to hear what she has to say, but I am very grateful that she is the kind of friend that has my best interest at heart and isn't afraid to tell me the truth. She is by far my best balcony person and I thank God for her and her undying support.

Well i think that's all for now. Til next time.....

ell, that about covers everything here.

This is my favorite time of the year !   I have so enjoyed these last few days doing one of my favorite things--------- driving with the windows wide open and letting my hair whip every which way in the wind.  I also like that it is light for so long into the evening. Takes alittle adjusting = have been late for rehersal a couple of times cuz I didn't realize it was so late.   OOPS

Things are pretty quiet around here. Colleen is away and Alison went down to S.C. to bring her stuff up from storage. She took Amtrak down. She liked it. It was much more relaxing than driving all that way alone. Less stressful for me too !

Tomorrow I will hang with my niece. (Lala's daughter)   They went up to Binghamton to bring their son and all his stuff home from college, she has work in the morning and then why be alone when you can play with your favorite Aunt Jackie. I am sure we will find something u to do. I'd  like to go see Shrek 3maybe.

I am looking forward to all things coming to an end - have a bell concert June 3 and our end of the year concert on June 10. The choir and worship team don't sing in the summer - music is provided by soloist or special groups. I hope to do some relaxing and catching up this summer - we'll see how that goes.

Well that's about all I have to say for now - be well til next time.

WHAT A GREAT AND MARVELOUS TIME AT THE RETREAT!

I am too tired to say much, i am heading for bed.  I will say that there was much fellowship, awesome music, a great speaker, wonderful messages and mental images .

The focus for the weekend was the church -  its body and revival.       Some visuals I brought home are:

1. since we are all one in Christ, WE are part of one body so I picture the outline of christ' body filled in with all our faces, reminding me that we are a teammates , with God being the head or team captain.

2.  We talked about and discovered what our spiritual gifts were and the image is of  body parts,  each doing their own thing, good thing even,  but nothing getting accomplished to benefit  the kingdom because they are not connected and focused to the head - Jesus

3.  We talked how the church is to teach not just the good news but also in correction of one another , in love.     Pastor, in his summary of all the aspects covered by the speaker, offered the image of the uprooted trees in the surrounding wooded areas that were not able to fall completely to the ground because they were supported by nearby trees. This is to remind us how the church is to function - that when  those around us are experiencing difficult times and struggles, (as we all will at some point) we need to surround and support them so they cannot fall.

I dont know if this makes any sense to you, I have the benefit of being there.   LOLWell, that's all til next time. Have a good night.
